JCPS Closed Friday, Jan. 21

At 9:54 p.m. Thursday, Fox 41 announced that JCPS will close all schools. This announcement came after an early dismissal earlier in the day. Unlike the previous snow day, the district did not wait until 4:00 Friday morning to make the announcement. There had been much public criticism for announcing their decision to shut schools so close to the start of the school day.

“Even though I’m excited about getting a much needed break from school, I’m not looking forward to making up the days we’ve missed, but sledding makes it worth it,” said Sierra Love (12). When asked how it the snow day made her feel as a senior, she said, “I just look at it as more time I get to be around my friends before we all go off to college.”
