Running Rams face Male in first round of districts

The duPont Manual boy’s basketball team will take on Male High School in the first round of the district tournament tonight, February 22, at 7:30 p.m. The game will be held at Male’s gym, as will all of the other district games. The winner of this game will move ahead in the tournament and will play the eventual winner of the Collegiate v. St. Xavier game.

The Lady Crimsons will face Mercy Academy in the second round of their district tournament after dominating the Collegiate Lady Amazons 60-18 at Atherton on monday night. Morgan Allen and Destony Curry led the Crimsons with 13 points each, while Michelle Kommor led the lady Amazons with 7 points. The Lady Crimsons beat Mercy the last time the two teams met in the finals of the LIT. They expect a good game and hope to win the district title and make a deep run into the state tournament. “Not only is it good for the team and the school,” says senior Matt Pardue, “we might even get to miss a couple days of school to watch them play if they make it to state. That would be awesome.”
