Manual Softball Falls in 25th District Tournament Semifinal

The duPont Manual Softball team suffered its final defeat of the season, losing 7-2 to arch-rival Male High School on Tuesday, May 24 at Mercy Academy.

The Lady Bulldogs relied on the strong pitching performance of Alison Conrad (11), who gave up only three hits to the Lady Crimsons.

Lorraine Carner (12) said, “I’m really disappointed. The season is over now and the fact that we lost to Male in the final game just adds insult to injury.” Carner drove in the only 2 Manual runs in the game.

“Although our season is over, our ladies have really improved. We started the season off 0-7 and ended up 14-14. That’s why I’m so proud of this team,” Manual head coach Andrew Hundley said after the game.

Male will face Mercy at 5:30 on Wednesday, May 25 at Southern High School in the 7th region tournament.
