Students will raise awareness on National Suicide Prevention Day

On September 10, students are encouraged to educate themselves about depression and self-harm through the online movement “To Write Love on Her Arms”.

The event was promoted by the editors of a local magazine, The Red Pen. A Facebook page invited students from Manual, Atherton, Brown, Sacred Heart Academy, and Kentucky Country Day to take part in the event.

Participating students are asked to write “Love” on the arms of their friends and classmates to raise awareness for the cause.

Patrick Haertal, an editor of The Red Pen, sent an e-mail to every teacher at Manual to inform them about the movement.
