Wendy’s High School Heisman Awards
Requirements are that the student must have competed in one school sponsored sport and they must have maintained a “B” average. To apply, you must visit http://www.WendyHeisman.com. If won, student will be invited to attend the Broadcast Trophy Weekend in N.Y.C and be broadcasted on E.S.P.N. The due date is October 2, 2012.
The Thomas Wolfe Scholarship University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill
Requirements are that the student must have written up to 50 pages in prose writing, 40 pages in poetry, and 60 pages in English playwriting. To apply, the student must visit http://english.unc.edu/creative/tws for application form. The winner will receive $175,392. The due date is October 15, 2012.
The Bryan Scholarship- Davidson College
Requirements are that the students nominated (3 from Manual, 3 from YPAS) must have an outstanding academic record, must be a strong leader in classroom and sport. To apply, (if already nominated) visit http://www.davidson.edu/apply. The reward is $120,000. The due date is October 15, 2012.
The National Foundations For the Advancement of the Arts- Miami, Florida
Requirements are that the student is interested in majoring in the arts, the student must be in grades 10-12, and must be a U.S citizen. To apply, visit http://www.youngarts.org/apply, enter personal information, pay free or send fee waiver materials ($35), and send in audition and portfolio materials. The due date is October 19, 2012.
