Boys’ basketball try-outs held in small gym

The boys’ basketball team try-outs were held on Monday, October 15 in the small gym from 2:30-5:15pm.

The season officially begins on November 27, and the players will know what team they’ve made in a few weeks.

“They’ll know in a little while, and once football and the other sports are done,” James Just, head coach of the boys’ basketball team, said.

The boys worked on a variety of fundamentals including dribbling, passing, shooting and offensive/defensive drills at try-outs; they also conditioned by running sprints.

Just believes this year’s team has a little ways to go before the season officially begins.

“They’re very inexperienced. We’ve got a lot of young players this year, but it’s still early,” Coach Just said about the outcome of for try-outs this year.

Returning players have high hopes of what this season has to bring as well.

“I want to win State in the long run, and win more than two tournaments,” Simon Clifford (12), a returning player, said.
