11 Manual athletes sign to colleges

On Wednesday, November 14th, 11 Manual athletes signed national letters of intent to play a sport at the next level. Athletes across the nation signed letters of intent just like these Manual athletes. A national letter of intent means you are agreeing to attend that specific school and are accepting some amount of athletic scholarship. Here is a list of the eleven Manual signees:

Jordan Caravona: Florida Institute of Technology (Women’s swimming)

Destony Curry: Bellarmine University (Women’s basketball)

Gabbi Greenwald: Samford University (volleyball)

Ellis Grimes: University of Pennsylvania (Women’s swimming)

Brian Habacivich: Boston University (Men’s swimming)

Ben Hachten: Truman State University (baseball)

Elizabeth House: University of Notre Dame (Women’s swimming)

Sara Love: Michigan State University (Women’s swimming)

Maya McClendon: University of Louisville (volleyball)

Harrison Scanlon: Western Kentucky University (baseball)

Kayla Styles: Xavier University (Women’s basketball)

Manual’s athletic director, David Zuberer, was very proud of the number of athletes signing here at Manual. “This is the most Manual athletes that have ever signed during the November signing day, it means a lot,” Zuberer said as he addressed the crowd in the auditorium.

Many of these athletes had been waiting for this day for a long time. “Ever since my sister was up here doing the same thing, I couldn’t wait for my chance, she had such a huge impact on me,” said McClendon.

The next national signing day is at the beginning of February.
