Boys’ lacrosse team begins indoor season

Players from the boys’ lacrosse team at Manual have joined an indoor league at River City Sports Arena, an indoor soccer club that has lacrosse and field hockey leagues as well.

Although the team has mainly Manual players, the team is not affiliated with the school. However, it helps the boys get ready to start conditioning and the begin the outdoor season. “It keeps a stick in our hand and allows us to stay warmed up for the season,” said Brenton Wolford (10).

The players signed up together as a JV team, and is made up of mainly sophomores as well as two freshmen and two juniors.

“The thing I like best about indoor is the fast pace. In indoor, there’s no out-of-bounds or grass to slow down the playing speed, so the ball is always moving in the field,” said Brent Wesley (11).

The team doesn’t practice regularly, but will sometimes work out together and practice on Saturdays. The indoor games are every Thursday night. They have played against St. X, Trinity, Christian Academy, North Oldham, and Male.
