On April 16 several Key Club members, organized by Gabriella Torres (11), brought a Zumba instructor to Manual to raise money for the Kids Center. The Kids Center is an organization that helps children with disabilities, even those who can’t afford it. It cost students $10 to participate. At the Kids Center, $20 can pay for one hour of therapy. The Zumba instructor’s name is Michelle Turner and she works with the Kids Center.
The students who set up the class had water and granola bars available for the participants.
Michelle Turner, the Zumba instructor, begins the first dance of the class.
The instructor playfully makes the participants run across the court and back again.
Two of the students take a break to get water.
Some other students, including softball and baseball players, decided to watch the class.
The students take a quick break to catch their breath in between dances.
The students throw their arms up during an “old-school” dance.
At the end of the last dance the students got in a circle and stretched.
At the end of the class, Michelle had all of the participants sit in a circle, introduce themselves, and say how they were feeling.
They ended the class with a group cheer, throwing their hands in the air.
The class comes together for a final picture.
