Maker’s Mark Halloween Hop

Frankfort Avenue

6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
The Trolley Hop is monthly event that takes place on the last Friday of each month. Businesses hours will be extended especially for this event. Free trolley rides will run down Story and Mellwood so that patrons can have a unique shopping and dining experience. Those wishing to trick-or-treat should dress in costume.

Saturday, Nov. 1

Mindfulness Mini-Retreat 

Horine Conference Center-11311 Mitchell Hill Road

9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., $25 for general public (discount for UofL students and faculty)
University of Louisville Psychology and Brain Sciences Professor Paul Simon will lead a six-hour seminar on tools to manage stress. The lessons in this seminar will be based off the teachings of Jon Kabat-Zinn. Professor Simon asks participants to wear comfortable clothes and to bring a water bottle.

All Day Board Games
The Ramada Plaza Louisville-Rooms A & B
11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m., $5 (free for children under ten)
The Louisville Board Gamers encourage people interested in playing board games to participate in this event. Attendees can bring their own board games or come to play the over 100 variety board games available.

M.S. Pumpkin Derby 
Louisville Slugger Field
Noon-4:00 p.m., Prices vary
The second annual M.S. Pumpkin Derby aims to raise awareness about multiple sclerosis. Events include The Pumpkin Derby, Kids’ Fun Zone, a decorated pumpkin contest and crafts. The Pumpkin Derby is an event where participants race pumpkins by putting wheels on a pumpkin and rolling it down a  ramp.

Afternoon Tea at Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft

2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m., Free with admission to museum
The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft will be hosting a traditional afternoon tea. Sister’s Tea Parlor will be providing tea, scones and sweet treats.

Tuesday, Nov. 4

KFTC Election Night Party! 
The Monkey Wrench-1025 Barret Ave.
6:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m., Free ($5 donation)
The Jefferson County Chapter of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth will be celebrating the conclusion of KFTC’s nine-month voter registration drive. DJ Clawsome will play as patrons prepare to watch election results. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Literally, a Haunted House
Culbertson Mansion – 914 East Main Street, New Albany, IN
7:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m., $14
2014 marks the 30th year that the Culbertson Mansion is sponsoring a haunted house. The money raised goes to restoration efforts of the Culbertson Mansion. Over 100 volunteers work for majority of the year to organize Literally, a Haunted House. Be aware of their “Words of Warning” concerning pregnant women, youth and others on the tour.

Sunday, Nov. 2-Tuesday, Nov. 4

An Evening with Poe
Frazier History Museum
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., $15 for members and $18 for non-members
Frazier Museum’s Historic Interpretations Department will present live performances of the works of famous author Edgar Allen Poe, including The Raven, The Cask of Amontillado and Alone.
