This is a great way to enjoy some classic fall activities, such as hayrides and pumpkin picking, without having to deal with the crowd at Huber’s. Colorfest will also have a set of unique local food and art vendors to make the experience even more enjoyable. The setting is perfect for nature lovers, as there will be options to hike as well.

Actors Theatre

A popular Actors Theatre production for many years, this live adaptation of Braham Stoker’s classic “Dracula” is the perfect way to get into the Halloween mood. The play is about Count Dracula, a vampire who stalks two young women. The show features dramatic, bloody effects, including a gunshot. It is sure to leave a lasting impression with the always outstanding cast. Be prepared to get scared, as the cast will randomly emerge from walkways right next to your seat!

Known for his 2013 single “Guiding Light,” Foy Vance is an acoustic singer-songwriter from Ireland. He gained attention in the indie scene when he toured with Ed Sheeran in 2013. Illinois-born supporting act Trevor Sensor brings a similar style of music, but with a bit of a punk flair in his voice to accompany folk guitar melodies. Fans of Bear’s Den or Ben Howard would enjoy the show.

Louisville Ballet: Swan Lake

Don’t miss out on the Louisville Ballet’s production of the classic show “Swan Lake.” Be captivated by graceful movements and beautiful scenery, as well as music from a live orchestra. Written by Tchaikovsky, “Swan Lake” tells the tale of the beautiful princess Odette when she is turned into a swan by an evil curse. It is also a love story, as a prince must come along to save her and reverse the curse. It doesn’t take being a dance expert to enjoy this show; “Swan Lake” is truly an experience anyone will enjoy.

Film buffs will love this event. Over 140 short and full-length films from all over the world will be shown. There are multiple ticket options for people who want to go all weekend, for a day, or just to one movie. Additionally, there will be seminars from experts on how to get into the film business.

Presented by Theatre 502, “River City” is a play written by local playwright Diana Grisanti. It is about a young girl Mary who stumbles upon a picture from her father’s past and goes on a journey to learn about her family history. The story centers around Louisville’s West End. “River City” looks promising, as it has won the Austin Critics Table David Cohen Award and received positive reviews.
