Three easy recipes to make your Thanksgiving taste better

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, there are many opportunities to celebrate with friends and family. With parties, dinners and family celebrations, here are three Thanksgiving recipes that you can use for the occasions.

PUMPKIN PIE BITES (makes 24)

Ingredients needed:
  • 2 pre-made, ready-to-roll pie crusts
  • 1 cup of pumpkin puree
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • Whipped cream (optional)
Preparation:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray nonstick cooking spray on a mini-muffin pan and set aside.
  3. Roll the dough out on a floured surface.
  4. Cut out approx. 3 inch diameter circles (as many as you can).
  5. Carefully press the pie crust circles into the mini-muffin pan, rounding the ends to portray pie crust edges.
  6. Spread the egg wash from one egg on top of all the edges of the mini pie crusts and set it aside.
  7. Beat the cream cheese and sugar together until smooth, adding one egg at a time until fully beaten.
  8. Mix in the pumpkin puree, vanilla and pumpkin pie spice.
  9. Add about 1-2 tbsp. Of the mixture into each mini pie crust until it is about ¾ full.
  10. Bake for 15-20 or until the edges are golden brown.
  11. Chill for 30 minutes before serving.

“THANKSGIVING IN A BLANKET” (makes 8)

Ingredients:
  • 1 tube of refrigerated crescent rolls
  • ¾ cup of shredded roasted turkey
  • ¾ cup of prepared stuffing
  • ¾ cup of prepared mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • ¼ cup prepared gravy (optional)
Preparation:
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Roll out crescent rolls individually.
  4. Top with a small spoonful of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.
  5. Roll up all on the crescent rolls and put them onto the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Serve with gravy for dunking (optional)

TURKEY CHEESE BALL (makes one, serves 10-15)

Ingredients:
  • 1 package of cream cheese (8 oz)
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup of chopped mixed nuts
  • 2 candy eyes
  • 1 Slim Jim
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Whoppers
  • Candy corn
  • 1 tbsp of chocolate candiquik
Preparation:
  1. Mix soften cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese together.
  2. Put into a piece of plastic wrap and form it into a ball.
  3. Set it refrigerator for an hour.
  4. Take out of the refrigerator, remove plastic wrap and roll in chopped nuts.
  5. Place pretzels across the back like the full tail of a turkey.
  6. Press a 4-5 inch Slim Jim in the front.
  7. Place eyes and candy corn onto the top of the Slim Jim with the chocolate candiquik to form a face.
  8. Arrange cracker of your choice around the cheese ball for serving.
  9. Place in refrigerator overnight before serving.
