GSTA sells brownies for books

In order to raise money for new books about the gay community to put in the library, the Gay-Straight-Transgender Alliance has been selling Little Debbie snacks between Manual and Noe Middle after school.

“We are trying to expand the knowledge of the people in our school,” Maura Hayse (10), GSTA Treasurer, said. “We want those who don’t understand to be able to read about it, and those who do, to be able to have an escape into books that can help them deal with what they’re going through.”

GSTA is hoping to buy books that cover a number of genres, such as romance and horror.

“There are some really great books out there that can help a lot of people with what they’re going through and show them that there are people out there who can relate,” Hayse said.

Someone from GSTA can be found standing out between the two schools after school between 2:20 and 2:28. Snacks are available for fifty cents each.
