YPAS ensemble performs ‘Harold and the Purple Crayon’ for Girl Scouts of America festival

On Nov 10. YPAS dance ensemble is putting on two shows of Harold and the Purple Crayon that will be performed at YPAS for the Girl Scouts of America’s Festival of the Arts.

“We put it on last spring, put on different matinaes, the children loved it. As part of the show they got to dance, they got to color, they got to sing, they got to kelt, they got to do all sorts of things. It’s very interactive and our students really enjoy it,” said Mrs. Ruttan, a YPAS dance instructor.

Harold and the Purple Crayon is for children to enjoy, but also helps benefit YPAS students.

“It’s a good opportunity for our kids to perform and it’s also a way for our department to generate money, it’s always a big seller of the fall,” said Mrs. Ruttan.

“I think that the production of Harold and the Purple Crayon is adorable. Doing something like this for little kids is awesome because they can easily use their imaginations while watching it. I’m glad that I’m doing it and I know it is going to do really well,” said Leah Kubala (10).
