Instead of walkouts, envelopes and advocacy

Instead of walkouts, envelopes and advocacy

Today, students around the country organized walkouts in remembrance of the Columbine High School shooting that took place on this day in 1999, as well as to advocate for changes in school safety.

Manual students did not organize a walkout, but the Manual student organization Fair Education For All (FEFA) honored the date by distributing envelopes with a list of gun violence statistics, contact information for elected officials, a $1.73 price tag and voter registration information.

According to their Twitter account, FEFA is a “student-led initiative working to achieve reform for gun violence in schools.”

Manual also had a moment of silence in honor of the 13 Columbine victims during the morning announcements.
