Tasty Trends: Give Em’ the Ol’ Razzle Dazzle

I cannot get enough of the holidays. Love, happiness, and generosity seem to bring people together. These festive get-togethers’ are a great excuse to look your best and razzle dazzle all the other party-goers by simply pairing together and/or purchasing some glitzy statement pieces.

These days, I have noticed that everyone, even the most simple of people, are wearing rings. I am not usually a ring person myself, but lately, I have been loading my fingers with gaudy cocktail rings in every shape, size, and color. I also recently discovered that rings over leather driving gloves look fantastic, but if you’re not that brave, even just one cocktail ring can spice up your holiday look. So, while planning your outfit for that upcoming holiday fiesta, try this: a classic LBD (little black dress), patterned black tights with boots, and one very large piece of jewelry (enormous necklace or fancy earrings) or as many cocktail rings as your fingers will hold. Bonus points if you top the outfit off with a high messy bun and smoky eyes.

Where might one find these said “cocktail rings”? Take a trip over the hill and through the woods to grandmother’s house you go and ask her in your sweetest grandchild voice if you may have the privileged to borrow some of her old vintage rings (beware of asking to borrow family heirlooms, it could get ugly). If borrowed rings aren’t an option, great places to buy them are vintage or antique stores. Also, thrift stores have a tendency to have really awesome costume jewelry. Happy accessorizing!

Some of these rings were gifts, but the rest I found at various antique and thrift stores:

These earrings were a gift from my Aunt Fran. Pros: they aren’t heavy. Cons: they only show up on people with light hair:
