Weather report for Friday, January 21

Friday’s high temperature will be 19 degrees and the low will be 12. It will be partly sunny during the day and mostly cloudy around the evening hours. Winds are predicted between 7 and 11 mph during the day and calming down to 6 mph and below throughout the night. There will be plenty of snow on the ground; as of 8:30 PM Thursday, JCPS has not decided whether or not to close schools on Friday. However, the National Weather Service reported that black ice is likely and that the cold temperatures will “hinder cleanup of accumulated snowfall on even treated and plowed road surfaces.”
