Golf team plays in Slyder Cup

The golf team participated in the 4th annual Slyder Cup Scramble on May 21st at Shawnee Golf Course. This event was to help raise money so the team could play in several tournaments throughout the season and to help contribute to charity.

“It’s all about having fun and getting a little competitiveness going before the season starts,” said Harrison Hill (10).

After the 16th hole, the scramble was stopped early due to stormy weather that afternoon.

The winner of the event was Chris Miller (10). His team consisted of incoming freshman, Kevin Puaphan, Mr. Todd Wellemeyer, and Coach Todd Eastridge.

“We played together really well,” said Chris Miller, “Todd and I put in some long balls off the tee and Eastridge and I were sticking them tight to the pins. Everyone made some clutch putts and we threw up some birdies and eagles on just about every hole. It was definitely a team effort and we just went out and had fun.”
