This immersive arts program will feature art forms to appeal to everyone. Visual art available for viewing will include paintings, sculptures, textiles, printmaking and mixed media. Jazz and blues musician Rick DeBow will provide the background music for a day of art, silent auctions, door prizes and food. All proceeds will go to Louisville Visual Art, a nonprofit organization funding art exhibitions and education. This is a way to support a good cause while having a good time.

Spring is now in full swing, so it’s time to get planting. Gardenganza will have everything necessary to plant a beautiful garden, with flowers, herbs, vegetables and shrubs for more. The event is a major fundraiser for the Louisville Nature Center and the Jefferson County Master Gardener Association, so it’s a good opportunity to support the organizations. There will also be a food truck and live music, so there’s something for everyone at this event.

In Frame: The Man Behind the Museum Hotels Premiere Screening

It won’t take being a film buff to enjoy this screening. All it takes is curiosity in one of the most iconic hotels in Louisville. This riveting documentary focuses on the life and legacy of Steve Wilson, founder of 21c Museum Hotels. Filmmaker Edward Heavrin will hold a discussion after the film. So be prepared to learn about how this eccentric hotel chain came to be.

The Louisville Leopards percussionists are a unique group of local kids who practice through a music education program. They play everything from jazz to ragtime to pop. The Louisville Leopard are sure to bring their best to the stage at this performance, as they always do.

This is an annual event of the Kentucky Derby Festival that no Louisville resident should miss. It’s the most important way to kick off Derby season with a spectacular display of fireworks. There is a lot more to Thunder than just the fireworks show, however. There is an air show at 3 p.m. featuring many planes and their tricks. Thunder is also a great social time for friends and family, and a wide variety of great festival foods is available.
