On Wednesday, a student from Noe Middle School was arrested and charged for bringing two guns to the campus on Tuesday.
Parents received a notification on Campus Portal and by email informing them of what had happened.
However, Manual, which shares a campus with Noe, wasn’t notified of anything out of the ordinary.
Amy Ritchie (English) is a teacher at Manual with kids who attend Noe.
“I don’t know the circumstances,” Ritchie said. “I read the message and it said that everything was handled exactly the way it was supposed to have been handled. It was immediately under control and that the student was being disciplined accordingly.”
Gerald Mayes, Manual’s principal, also has children who attend Noe.
“We’ve always had a good relationship with Noe and so we kind of watch each other’s back,” Mayes said. “Noe’s always been really good about contacting us so I think there might be more to the story than any of us really know.”
