On Valentines Day, 2012, a group of nearly 50 duPont Manual students loaded onto two buses and headed to the capital, Frankfort. The objective: to rally the government behind legislation to make mountaintop removal sites less hazardous to streams and to raise support for alternative energy sources in Kentucky. The rally included a meeting with legislators, speeches on the front steps of the capitol building, and a march to the governor’s mansion. [nggallery id=562]
