The 2019-2020 school year is just a few weeks away but Manual has already announced several updates to the building, new teachers and registration details for all grade levels.
Registration
Similar to last year, parents will need to pay class fees on Parent Portal and complete various forms and paperwork before students come to registration. Registration will take place in the main YPAS building at the following dates and times, organized by grade:
Aug. 6 – Freshmen
○ Last names of A – L: 8:00 – 10:30 a.m.
○ Last names of M – Z: 12:00 – 2:30 p.m.
Aug. 8 – Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors
○ Seniors: 8:00 – 9:45 a.m.
○ Juniors: 10:00 – noon
○ Sophomores: 1:00-3:00 p.m.
The senior parking pass lottery will be setup during senior registration. Students must meet the criteria listed on Manual’s website. Seniors will also be able to place cap and gown orders from Balfour.
More information about registration, including a list of everything that will be available for purchase, is included in the PDF below.
Seniors are expected to email their counselors a completed copy of both the Senior Questionnaire and Parent Questionnaire by Aug. 1. These can be found on Manual’s counseling website.

Building updates
In addition to releasing the new faculty list in an email to Manual’s staff, Mr. Farmer also provided updates on the status of the building renovations. They currently plan to be able to access the building on Aug. 6.
“According to renovations, they are on schedule to finish before the start of school,” Mr. Farmer said. “This means that it will go right down to the wire.”
All of the classrooms that were renovated over the summer will now have drop ceilings, covering up the previously visible wires and cables. Throughout the summer, JCPS Facility Planning and Manual’s administration provided updates of the progress on Twitter.
Additionally, some renovations were made to Manual’s athletic landscapes, including a ramp to access the lower part of the gym and a repair to the rod iron gate at Rachel Baker Field.
