Action for Africa Talent Show Practice

Action for Africa Talent Show Practice

On Thursday, March 28, students performing in the Action for Action Talent Show gathered to practice their acts. The show, which will be on April 12th at 6:30 pm, will feature students and faculty singing, dancing, and displaying other unique talents.

The largest group to perform in the show will be the Cool Hand Ukes, the recently formed ukulele club. In addition to playing traditional ukulele, their performance will also feature a one of a kind electric ukulele, created by band member Zach Willman (11).

Also performing are Freshmen singers Jasmine Mattei and Red Glenn. Mattei is a vocal major who loves to sing, and will be performing Adele’s Sky Fall.

During the practice, Glenn sang the Little Mix rendition of Cannonball, the same song she will be performing during her audition for the X Factor. Glenn will be auditioning for the show this spring break, and said that the Action for Africa Talent Show practices have helped her to prepare for her audition.

Sydney Gomes, a Junior, will be performing at the talent show for the first time singing and playing guitar. “I watched my friend Merryll perform last year, and I perform at church also so I really like being on stage. I thought this would be a fun thing to do!” said Gomes.

Attendees of the show on the 12th can also look forward to a performance by Kaitlyn Vissing (12), a rap by Mr. Murphey, Mr. Obryan singing Dr. Horrible, and Ms. Teague performing on the flute.
