Urinetown the Musical PREMIERE @ YPAS
1517 South 2nd Street
Louisville, KY 40208
$9-$12, 7:30pm

“A tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution: Urinetown is set in a time where water is worth its weight in gold. Citizens must pay to use the public amenities with prices set by one overreaching company (the Urine Good Company). That is until one day a young man decides he has had enough. He leads a revolution to give everyone the “freedom to pee”. Urinetown takes a satirical look at issues that affect us every day, using an outrageous perspective and a modern wit.”

Manual/YPAS students will put on this show for the first time. Students are encouraged to support their fellow classmates/schoolmates. The show will also run Nov. 23 and 26, and Dec. 3-7.

Contemporary Plays and Playwrights in Louisville
Nancy Niles Sexton Stage- Walden Theatre
1123 Payne Street
Louisville, KY 40204
$6-$12, 2:30pm

“The American Theatre is full of new plays and new playwrights making exciting advances in our field. Keeping up with all of the newest work is difficult — especially in our day-job-plus lives. In his experience working directly with playwrights in the development of new plays and as a Co-Artistic Director of Theatre [502], whose commitment to recent and relevant theatre for Louisville audiences keeps him in constant ‘research and read’ mode, Gil Reyes has his eye on a wide variety of emerging writers and their work. In this session, Gil will give a brief intro to some of the most exciting things happening in contemporary dramatic literature, and leave you with resources to learn more.”

Anyone interested in plays/playwriting is encouraged to attend this event. This is a chance to learn about contemporary dramatic literature from a man with experience. It’s an opportunity you may not want to pass up.
