The 45th annual Jeffersontown Gaslight Festival, which runs from Sunday, Sept. 14th to Sunday, Sept. 21st, will showcase local businesses and will bring the community together through a series of festivals, competitions and events.
Gaslight, which began in 1969 and occurs annually in the third week of September, is free and open to the public.
“Last year we had about two hundred thousand people attend,” said Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce Communications Director Meghan Murphy. “Gaslight Festival Weekend, the actual festival, is probably our most attended event. That or the Pegasus Parade.”
The festival includes eleven events sponsored by the Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce, including a 5K walk, car show and parade.
“I love Gaslight because it allows me the opportunity to catch up with all of my friends living in the J-town area,” said Mariko Chou (HSU, 10). “That is something I have seldom been able to do, since I enrolled in a high school mainly populated by people that live on the other side of town.”
