19th Annual Garvin Gate Blues Festival

The GGBF is a two day music festival featuring local and national blues artists. Many of the performers have played at this festival since it began in 1988. Along with live music, vendors’ booths with crafts, food and drink will also be open to the public.

The 6th annual LIFF hosts film works from around the world. The three day festival includes movie screenings, workshops and discussions.
The Clifton Center – Eifler Theatre

This concert takes place on the last day of Into the Garden: A Festival of Iraqi Culture. The two-time Grammy nominee, worldwide known oud player, will perform as a part of the event’s purpose to highlight Iraqi art and culture. Two paintings by Iraqi-American artist Vian Sora will also be on display.

Susan G. Komen Louisville Race for the Cure 2014

This is the 19th year of the 5K race that aims to raise money for breast cancer research. Participants will travel down River Road. This year’s theme for the race is “Together for Cures”. The Parade of Pink will kick off the beginning of the race.
Baxter’s 942 Bar & Grill

An event for pet-owners to bring their animals to participate in activities like cornhole tournaments and agility competitions. Money raised at this event goes to local charity My Dog Eats First.

Kosair Charities Fall Fest 2014
Kosair Charities Campus – 982 Eastern Pkwy.
11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
This event is a celebration of Kosair Charities’ 90 years of work. Live music from each decade from the 1920s to the present will play along with various activities such as a play area for children, a Kosair Reunion Tent and a car raffle.
Kentucky Career & College Expo
Kentucky Fair & Expo Center – South Wing, Hall A
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Free
Participants will have the opportunity to talk to colleges from across the country, explore scholarship opportunities and attend free seminars. The expo includes over 250 universities, vocational schools, college recruiters and employers.
Bardstown Rd./Baxter Avenue – Douglas Blvd. to East Brdwy.
2:00 p.m – 6:00 p.m., Free
An opportunity to walk, run, skate, bike, etc. through the streets of Louisville streets. Stores and restaurants along the streets will be open to the public as normal.
