The Lady Crimsons won their first away game of the season in blowout last Tuesday when they defeated Presentation Academy 81-37. The Lady Crimsons played a competitive first half, ending the half with 39 points to Presentation’s 25, but controlled the game on defense for all of the second half.
“We played with a lot of energy and we really got after them and set a tone with our defense,” Head Coach Jeffrey Sparks said. “We just came out and played, and we didn’t play with any nervousness.”
Manual came out even stronger in the second half, scoring point after point and finishing the game with 81 points. The Crimsons’ defense only allowed 12 points while scoring 42 points in the entire second half.
“We played hard and focused on defense more than anything and forced a lot of turnovers,” Tonysha Curry (10, #23) said. “We moved the ball around very well and took good shots.”
The next girls’ basketball game will be held at Assumption on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
