The YPAS vocal spring concert will take place at Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church Monday, May 23. All choirs will perform and several soloists will be featured. The performance includes different arias from Mozart’s The Magic Flute. The girls’ choir will sing two songs from the balcony of the sanctuary. The boys’ choir will sing two songs in German and “For the Longest Time” by Billy Joel. The concert’s finale will feature the Concert Choir singing Duruflé’s “Requiem”.
“The requiem will definitely be the hardest part,” said soloist Zach Hyde (11). “As soon as we got back from Europe, where we were singing a different requiem, we started the Duruflé one because Dr. Glasscock said that we had the potential to pull it off. I feel like we can, but we’re gonna have to work really hard for it.”
Family and friends are encouraged to attend. Harvey Browne is located at 311 Browns Lane, 40207. The concert will begin at 7.30 PM.
