The baseball team defeated Jeffersontown High School 6-3 on Saturday, May 21, to finish their regular season with a record of 11-19.
J-Town gained an early lead of 3-0 after the third inning, due to 3 consecutive walks from sophomore pitcher Andrew Olson, but the Crimsons responded in the 4th inning with 3 runs. No scoring happened until the added 8th inning, when senior Stephen Surrell hit a single to score sophomore Nathan Smith. Andrew Olson brought in 2 more runs from one hit to close the game. Olson pitched the entire game, only giving up 4 hits.
“It was a good win for us, because they beat Male and Eastern,” said senior Craig Pearcy. “We had to play our best game or else they would’ve snuck up on us, and we had to come back to gain momentum going into the district tournament.”
