On October 22, the duPont Manual cheerleading team was part of the opening ceremony at the Susan G. Komen Walk, an event meant to raise money for breast cancer research.
The cheerleaders held the American flag at the opening ceremony of the Susan G. Coleman Walk and cheered on the participants and survivors. “I had an awesome time, it was fun to see the girls in a different element other than cheer practice,” Coach Valarie Tackett said.
“It was a pretty day to walk, parents participated, and it was an opportunity for me and the team to bond. I really had a nice time,” Maci Babbage (11) said.

The 12 cheerleaders and coach Tackett donated $30 each when they registered for the races in support of the cure for cancer.
On October 15, the duPont Manual cheerleading team participated in the Breast Cancer walk, Race for the Cure.
