On Jan. 21, the duPont Manual High school cheerleaders compete in the L.I.T., a competition for all the cheerleading teams in JCPS. The team has been practicing at All About Kids three days a week in preparation.
Members of the team expressed confidence in their ability to win. “Even though I will not be able to make it to the competition, I have faith in my team that they will pull through,” said Jhana Waddell (11).
“I also have a lot of faith in myself and the team in our upcoming competition. I really think we’re working hard for it,” said Brittany Perry (10).
“I think we are getting there, we need a little more work, but the girls are working their butt off,” said Coach Valarie Tackett. She said believed that the girls have the faith and the work ethic to win the competition.
