On Friday, Nov. 1, Manual hosted a pep rally in anticipation of the Old Rivalry game against Male.
It began with the introduction of the senior class and football team into the gymnasium, followed by the National Anthem sung by the choir ensemble.
Shortly after, the cheerleaders made their pep rally debut with tumbling and a dance routine, preparing the student body for the upcoming activities.
The first of those activities was a 10 person relay race, which the juniors won. Then, the sumo wrestling tournament commenced. First the seniors beat the sophomores, then the juniors beat the freshmen.
Next, four members from each class competed in the donut eating contest. The juniors finished their plate first for their second win of the day.
Just after, the sumo wrestling tournament came to an end when Devin Allen (11, HSU) brought the juniors to another victory against Trey Boylan (12, HSU) and the seniors.
With student energy increasing, the Ramstock winners, Zёnith, performed. They prompted swaying and flashlights from all grades.
Then, the step team performed, followed by the junior and senior powderpuff cheerleaders. The seniors were awarded with the powderpuff win.
The last competition of the pep rally was the balloon race, the sophomore team winning their first, and only, event in the rally.
To finish off the pep rally, the award-winning Manual Dazzlers performed a new routine.
Lastly, the classes chanted the Red/White cheer. The seniors were awarded the spirit key to end the day.
The Manual Crimsons will face off the Male Bulldogs at Male tonight at 7 p.m.
