Boys’ Golf gears up for state tournament

On Sept. 24, the boys’ golf team will compete in the regional tournament.

The team, which lost by a couple of points last year, hopes to play better in this tournament. “I want to win, but this year we have tough competition with Trinity in our region,” Jakob Njos (11) said.

Christopher Miller (11) felt more prepared for regionals this year then last year. “Last year I had no idea what to expect after last year, but this year I have more experience and know what regionals will be like this time,” Miller said.

Miller started the season with multiple goals he had set for himself, including finishing in the top 10 for all-state points and winning as many tournaments as possible. “I’ve already won one [tournament], and I’m about 12th in all-state points,” Miller said.

Last year, Akash Merchandani won the state tournament as an individual golfer.
