Since right after freshman year, Jingjing Xiao has been working to cure lung cancer and leukemia at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center. She’s working with oligonucleotides, a gene that blocks anti-death proteins in the cancer cells. And as it turns out, those genes can get her pretty far in life.
