Jingjing Xiao works to remove a detergent from cancer cells so she can examine the RNA

Since right after freshman year, Jingjing Xiao has been working to cure lung cancer and leukemia at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center. She’s working with oligonucleotides, a gene that blocks anti-death proteins in the cancer cells. And as it turns out, those genes can get her pretty far in life.
