Thursday, October 4

Mayor’s Music and Art Series featuring Cheyenne Mize
-No entry fee
-Time: Noon
-Location: Metro Hall, 527 W. Jefferson Street
– Monthly concert series with different local musicians or artists

Louisville’s International Festival of Film
-No entry fee
-Time: First film screens at 6:30 p.m.
-Location: Kentucky Center, 501 West Main Street
-Opening night film is titled, “Shouting Secrets,” about a Native American family and their family struggles.

Friday, October 5

St. James Court Art Show
-No entry fee, but there will be booths selling items.
-Time: 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
-Location: South of Central Park on St. James and Belgravia Courts.

Southwest Community Festival and Balloon Glow
-No entry fee, $1 parking
-Time: 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
-Location: Sun Valley Park, 6505 Bethany Lane
-Hundreds of booths and events held at the festival to showcase the Southwest culture of Louisville

Saturday, October 6

Tom Sawyer Park’s Stop the Traffic 5K
-$20 pre-registration, $25 at the event
-Time: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
-Location: EP Tom Sawyer State Park, 3000 Freys Hill Road
-5K to raise awareness in the fight against human trafficking. All money raised will be donated to the Catholic Charities Rescue and Restore and Not For Sale Campaign.

Django Jamboree 2012
-No entry fee
-Time: 11:00 a.m.-11:00p.m.
-Location: University of Louisville, Middleton Auditorium in Stricker Hall, 580 S. Preston Street
-Jazz musicians Gonzalo Bergara, Ben Powell, and Denis Chang will be performing and teaching the public at this event to celebrate “gypsy jazz.”

Sunday, October 7

Think Harder Benefit Concert for Diabetes
-$10 entry fee
-Time: 3:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
-Location: Uncle Slayton’s, 1 17 East Broadway
-Concert benefitting The American Diabetes Association, featuring Think Harder, a band from Manual.

On My Honor feat Above the Underground Concert
-$10 entry fee
-Time: 7:00 p.m.
-Location: Spinelli’s Downtown, 5th St and W Jefferson Street

Monday, October 8

Ringo Deathstarr Concert
-$10 entry fee
-Time: 9:00 p.m.
-Location: Zanzabar, 2100 South Preston Street

Alabama Shakes Concert
-$25 entry fee
-Time: 8:00 p.m.
-Location: Brown Theatre, 315 W Broadway
