Members of Young Democrats plan to go to Obama’s Ohio campaign headquarters

Members of Manual’s Young Democrats club are planning to make a trip to President Obama’s election headquarters in Cinncinati during the upcoming election weekend to track the progress of the president’s ballots.

The trip, which is not officially affiliated with the school itself, was planned by Joey DeMarco (12). It was originally supposed to take place this past December, but the members could not rally enough support from the student body.

Allison Traylor (12), member and former president of the Young Democrats, was ecstatic about helping to plan the trip. “We’ve done things like this before,” she said, “but nothing as big as this.”

Since Ohio is a swing state in the upcoming presidential election, the club feels like it can make big waves at the headquarters. “Since Kentucky almost always votes completely Republican all the time, it feels good to have an impact somewhere where it matters,” Traylor said.
