Tasty Trends: A Fashion Blog by Claire Thomas

Tis’ the season for heavy coats, gloves and hats to be purchased and worn. Instead of going straight for the Ugg boots, hoodie, and puffy coat, try buying a few staple pieces to give your winter look that extra flare. Discard the sweatpants and try a pair of thick black leggings with a massive sweater. You could also put a wintery frock over it with some funky snow or rain boots. Pair this with a pea coat and a cute hat of your choice, and you have a fab new winter look that is as warm and comfortable as sweat pants and the unfortunate puffy coat, but much more fashionable. So when you’re buying new clothes for the season, be sure to snag a few basic pairs of leggings and fun, colored hats.

Also, if you’re trying to save up for your holiday shopping, but are wanting something more than the same ol’ same ol’, try a fun colored or patterned scarf that is much larger than the average scarf. These massive scarves are great for warmth and update the look of your coat. A great place to find these scarves are consignment shops, which are cheap and every purchase is unique.
