Schools closed Jan. 11

JCPS has closed schools on Tuesday, Jan. 11, marking the fourth closing of the school year. Wednesday will be a red day.

Due to the late announcement of school being canceled, some students woke up unaware. Morgan Loy (11) got up to go to school, drove her sister to the depot then turned on the radio to hear the JCPS announcement. “I rely on the JCPS mass text to let me know when school is out and never got one,” said Loy.

Micah Wilson (12) woke up, got dressed and then checked her Facebook finding that JCPS schools were off for the day. “I’m not mad that graduation is pushed back, we’re going to graduate regardless, I’m just trying to enjoy all the time i have left (as a senior).”
