  • On January 22nd the ten billionth software application was downloaded from Apple’s App Store. According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, a British woman was the downloader and she will receive an iTunes card from Apple worth $10,000. Apple has been the top mobile phone app distributor and publisher since the release of the iPhone in the summer of 2008. Since then, the app store has been constantly expanding and gaining popularity with over 160 million iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users worldwide.
  • Computer manufacturer, Dell, recently announced that they will be releasing a new tablet on T-Mobile’s wireless 4G network. The tablet will run on the Google Android operating system along with the Android Market and all the features most mobile Android phones have. The tablet, named the Dell Streak 7, will boast a 7-inch multi-touch display that can be used for shooting video or taking photos with both the rear- and front-facing cameras. The release date and retail price is still unknown.
