Earlier this year, I wrote a post about Tyler Johnson (12) committing to play lacrosse at Ithaca College. That article can be read here. In that article, Johnson said he was “waiting to get back his financial aid offers” to make his commit to Ithaca College final. Back then, his second choice was Transylvania University, but that has changed.
About a week ago, Johnson got back his financial aid package from Ithaca and then changed his commitment. Tyler Johnson will now be attending Transylvania in Lexington, KY next fall to play lacrosse. Johnson’s Ithaca financial aid package was not what he was hoping for and that is what lead to his decision. “I was really anxious to get all my financial aid stuff figured out so I could make a final decision,” Johnson said.
Johnson said he called the Transylvania coach to let him know of his decision. “Yeah, the coach was really excited. He said I made his day,” Johnson said. Johnson will be joining some of his teammates from his Laxville summer team. “I’m looking forward to it because I have some good friends from my summer team who are also playing there,” Johnson added.
