    How to survive finals

    1. DO: Study! You can’t learn anything without putting some effort in. It’s time to buckle down and really grind out some long hours of reading that history textbook you’ve been ignoring all semester.

    2. DON’T: Procrastinate. Cramming may work for regular tests and quizzes, but if you have a cumulative final there is no way you will be able to memorize a semester’s worth of information the night before a test. Pace yourself.

    3. DO: Know what is going to be on the test. If you don’t know, then how can you study? If your teacher made a study guide, even better! If not, pester them until they do.

    4. DON’T: Get distracted while studying. Studying is not effective if you are surrounded by noise or checking Twitter every five minutes. Lock yourself away from distractions, including social media.

    5. DO: Drink coffee. Or Red Bull. Or 5 Hour Energy. Anything that will keep you awake during the aforementioned study sessions.

    6. DON’T: Stay up late. Don’t be tempted to pull an all nighter studying for that Calculus final. You won’t get a good grade if you fall asleep in the middle of the test.

    7. DO: Use study techniques that work for you. Whether it be singing the Periodic Table song or making detailed flashcards, figure out what works for you, and use it!

    8. DON’T: Study while laying in bed. You will fall asleep. Every. Single. Time. Guaranteed.

    9. DO: Keep your eye on the prize. Stay focused. And remember, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel: winter break!

    10. DON’T: Panic. Stay calm. There’s no use in freaking out. Remember: you are smart. You go to Manual, after all.
