Ms. Wilcox (English) will sponsor a ballroom dancing club beginning in the 2014-2015 year. The club will most likely meet on Wednesdays after school, but the location has not yet been determined.

“I have wanted to start a ballroom dance club at Manual ever since I first joined the faculty, but the time and situation were never quite right,” said Ms. Wilcox. “This year, I decided to just take the plunge and do it! Ballroom dance is, for me and many others, a special connection that is like no other. It’s poetry in motion.”

Four professional teachers, including a Manual graduate, from the local dance community will volunteer to instruct the club.

“I took Fundamentals of Dance freshman year and I have not had another opportunity to dance in three years,” said Destinee Siebe (12, YPAS). “I love that I may have a chance again!”

“All you need is an open mind, an adventurous spirit, and a pair of shoes with hard soles!” said Ms. Wilcox. “No sneakers, sandals, or flip-flops.”
