100 Word Rant: Boys Field Hockey

100 Word Rant: Boys’ Field Hockey

After trying out for the field hockey team last year, Braden VanMeter (12, J&C) was informed that field hockey was sanctioned as a girls sport by the state of Kentucky (in Title IX of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s policy regarding schools’ teams), meaning that the state has begun funding the sport and that boys are prohibited from trying out.

Today’s 100 Word Rant features VanMeter on the topic of boys’ field hockey, or the lack thereof. If you would like to submit your own rant, please tweet @theCSPN or email [email protected].
