Administrators have hired Mr. Craig Klingenfus, the former goal clarity coach at Male High School, as Manual’s newest assistant principal.
Klingenfus will fill the vacancy left by former assistant principal Dr. Matt Kingsley, who now serves as the principal of Jeffersontown High School.
The hiring process began in mid-August, after Kingsley resigned. Manual administrators posted the job opening with the JCPS central office for 30 days.
Of the 72 total applicants, school administrators decided to interview the top 12 candidates. According to Assistant Principal Mr. Darryl Farmer, applicants were asked questions about how they would handle interactions with students, situations with district administrators and other common scenarios within the school.
Principal Mr. Jerry Mayes said that the hiring committee voted unanimously to hire Klingenfus.
Klingenfus will officially assume his position on Oct. 12. Check back tomorrow for an exclusive interview with him.
