Mayes reaffirms SBDM policy about homework over breaks

Principal Mr. Jerry Mayes has urged teachers not to assign homework for students to complete over the upcoming long weekend.

“Administration and the homework committee made the recommendation to SBDM that teachers refrain from excessive homework during breaks, with the exception of work consistent with the AP schedule,” he said. “I would like to have any student who runs into difficulty with this to see me personally.”

Mayes sent the following message to school faculty on Tuesday morning:

“Hey Gang,

Just a reminder! We are not assigning homework over the long break with the exception of the AP reading schedule.

Give the kids, their families and yourselves a break. Thanks”
