Football
Last week the Crimsons traveled to the east end and shut down the Ballard Bruins by a score of 13-0. The Bruins passing offense has been one of the top passing attacks in the state, but against the Crimsons they only managed to gain 173 yards on 17 completion. This week Manual will travel to Western high school to take on the Warriors. The game is set to kickoff at 7:00 on September 23. JV will play on September 19 at 5:30. Last year the Crimsons beat the warriors by a score of 41-0.
Girls’ Golf
The Girls’ Golf team will finish up its regular season this week with their match against Sacred Heart at Seneca Golf Course at 3:30 on Sept. 19. The team has enjoyed a good amount of success with several top finishers at various tournaments and matches this year.
Field Hockey
The Field Hockey team will have two home games this week after demolishing St. Francis last week by a score of 10-0. The first set of games will be Sept. 20 with the Freshmen playing at 4:15, JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 6:45. The second set of games are on Sept. 22, JV plays at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00. The team is on the back stretch of its season and hopes to continue the same success they’ve had in the first half of the season.
Boys’ Golf
The Boys’ Golf team has a very strenuous stretch this week as they have three matches in three days. On Sept. 19 they take on Whitfield Academy at Quail Chase Golf Course at 3:30, followed by a match against North Oldham on Sept. 20 at Eagle Creek Golf Course at 4:00. The final match of the week is against Desales at Iroquois Golf Course at 3:30 on Sept. 21.
Cross Country
This week the Cross Country team will have a busy week as they have two meets. The Frosh/Soph/JV 4k at Tom Sawyer Park is scheduled for Sept. 20. The second meet of the week will take place over the weekend as the team travels to Centerville, Ohio to race in the Saturday Night Lights meet.
Volleyball
The Volleyball teams have two sets of matches this week after going 3-0 last week, beating Atherton, Eastern and Bullitt Central. On Sept. 21 all three teams will travel to Butler to take on the Bears (Frosh at 5:00, JV at 6:00, Varsity at 7:00). The second match of the week will be played at Portland Christian on Sept. 22 (JV at 5:30, Varsity at 6:30). The Freshman team will not play against Portland Christian.
Boys’ Soccer
The Boys’ soccer team answered the bell last week with the two biggest matches of the season. The team beat top-ranked St. Xavier by a score of 1-0 behind a goal from sophomore Trevor Abma. The team played to a draw with the Trinity Shamrocks on Saturday to remain unbeaten for the season. This week they play at Butler on Sept. 20 at 7:00. On Sept. 22 the team plays Eastern at Manual Stadium, JV will play at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00.
Girls’ Soccer
The Girls’ Soccer team has a busy week this week as they have three matches scheduled. First the teams will take on Eastern (JV at 5:30, Varsity at 7:00). They have one day off before playing against Sacred Heart on Sept. 21 (JV at 5:30, Varsity at 7:00). The very next day the team will travel to Christian Academy of Louisville to take on the Centurions (JV at 6:00, Varsity at 7:00).
