This Week in Manual Athletics: Nov. 27-Dec. 2

Boys’ Basketball

The boys’ basketball team will kick off the season against Eastern on Tuesday. Tip-off will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Butch Charmoli Gymnasium at Manual. The team will go on to play Male in the basketball edition of the Old Rivalry on Friday. The rivalry contest will be at 7:30 p.m. at Butch Charmoli Gymnasium. Both games are Crimson/Ram Card events.

Girls’ Basketball

Following a season record of 21-9 last year the girls’ basketball team hopes to return to the sweet sixteen this season. The girls’ team will start off the season by playing Eastern on Tuesday night. Tip-off will be at 6 p.m. at Butch Charmoli Gymnasium. They will then face off against Male on Friday night. Tip-off will be at 6 p.m. Butch Charmoli Gymnasium. Both games are Crimson/Ram Card events.

Boys’ and Girls’ Swimming

Last season the Swim team placed in top five, this year they hope to win back the state title. On Tuesday the swim team will compete in the All-Comers Meet at Central. The meet will begin at 6:30 p.m. They will go on to compete in the Eastern Invitational on Saturday. The meet will be at Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center; times are TBA.

Archery

Looking to win a state title, the archery will start off the season with the Farsley Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The meet will be at Farnsley; times are TBA.

Wrestling

Last season Jacob Bratcher (12, HSU) finished in the top five of the KHSAA state meet. This year the team hopes to snag a state title, the wrestling team will start the season by competing in the Dixie Duals at Doss. The meet will be on Saturday; times are TBA.

Cheerleading

The cheerleading team will compete in the KHSAA Regional Competition on Saturday. The competition will be at Valley; times are TBA.

Boys’ and Girls’ Bowling

The bowling teams will host the Manual Invitational on Saturday. The meet will be at Ken Bowl; times are TBA.
