Croatian Youth Movement

Abey Philip (12, MST) founded the Croatian Youth Movement. The program, funded by the U.S. Department of State, teaches youth to help their communities. You can read the entire story and interview with Philips on the Courier-Journal’s website.

Hilliard Lyons Teacher Excellence Award

As we begin the second semester, students and families can nominate teachers, principals and a few other staff members to be the Hilliard Lyons 2018 Excellence Award recipient. You can nominate a teacher, principal, or goal clarity coach on the district’s website. The deadline to nominate someone is Feb. 1 and the announcement will take place April 26.

Trivia Night

Manual’s baseball team will host trivia night on Jan. 27th at 6 p.m. at the Jeffersontown Community Center. The cost is $160 per team and the first place price is $200. Visit their team page to access the flyer and reservation form.

SBDM Meeting

Recently, Manual’s SBDM held a meeting to discuss updates to school security, planned maintenance and feedback on previous events. You can read a recap from @theCSPN on Twitter. 

Scholarship Opportunities 

Rumpke is currently offering a $1,000 scholarship to graduating seniors who demonstrate a “commitment to environmental stewardship after graduation.” The application can be found here. The deadline is Mar. 10.

In addition, the American College Foundation is offering a $5,000 visionary scholarship to students of all grade levels. More details can be found on their website.
