The boys’ and girls’ swimming team defeated Male on Monday night to celebrate their senior night.

Boys
The boys’ team swept away the competition, winning first place in 11 of the 12 events.
50 freestyle – Alan Ocheretner (12) took first in the 50 yard freestyle for Manual, with a time of 23.8 seconds.
“It’s exciting you know, swimming here for four years. I made a lot of friends. It’s been great,” Ocheretner said.
100 freestyle – Ocheretner also placed first in the 100 freestyle, adding another win for Manual, with a time of 52.06.

100 breaststroke – Clayton Feller (10) placed first in the Boys 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.58, snagging the only first place event for Male. “I could improve on my turns, on the third turn in the 100, Alan dusted me,” Feller said.
100 backstroke – Carson Work (12) finished the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:04.32.
100 fly – In addition to the 100 backstroke, Work also placed first in the 100 fly with a time of 58.58.

200 freestyle – Daniel Pearson (10) placed first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.74.
200 IM – Hayden Brown (10) finished first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.8, to add yet another win for Manual.
500 freestyle – Greyson Williams (11) snagged first for Manual in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:14.64.

200 medley relay – Work, Brandon Nally (11), Williams and Luke Latto (10) fought hard and took first for Manual with a cumulative time of 1:48.76.

200 freestyle relay – Work, Ocheretner, Nally, and Pearson took first for Manual in the 200 freestyle relay with a cumulative score of 1:38.01.
400 freestyle relay – Work, Ocheretner, Brown and Pearson worked together to snag another first place for the Crimsons.
“Everyone swam well. I think we did good as a team,” Ocheretner said.

The boys’ swimming team ended the meet with a total of 149 points. Their next meet will be the JCPS Champs on January 31st. The meet will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Central.
Girls
The girls’ team racked up the awards as well, winning first in every event of the night.
50 freestyle – Elif Ozyurekoglu (10) snagged first for Manual in the 50 yard fly with a time of 25.79.

100 freestyle – Annie Michael (10) placed first in the 100 freestyle for the Crimsons with a time of 57.87.
100 breaststroke – Jane Hu (10) took first for Manual in the 100 breaststroke in an impressive 1:11.78.
100 backstroke – Elif Ozyurekoglu (10) snagged another win for Manual in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.28.

100 fly – Caroline Youdes (10) brought home first in the 100 fly for Manual with a time of 1:03.47.
200 freestyle – Kristin Adams (12) took first in the 200 freestyle for the Crimsons with a time of 2:03.71.
200 Im – Kate Benton (9) racked another first place for Manual in the 200 IM with an impressive 2:28.76.

500 freestyle – Adams took another first place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:50.51.
200 Medley relay – Hu, Ozyurekoglu, Aubrey Becker (11) and Rose McDonogh (12) fought hard to bring home first in the 200 medley relay with a cumulative time of 1:59.39.

200 freestyle relay – Alexandra Talbott (10), Ozyurekoglu, Michael and Celis Newell (9) racked another first place for Manual in the 200 freestyle relay with a cumulative time of 1:48.37.
“I’m really happy I think I did really good,” Talbott Said.
400 freestyle relay – Maggie Michael (12), Zoey Mason (12), Adams and Savannah Gupton (12) placed first in the 400 freestyle relay with a cumulative time of 4:04.57. “I’m proud of the girls they did good tonight. They placed first in every event,” Pearson said.

The girls’ team ended the night with a total of 169 points. Their next meet will be the JCPS Champs on January 30th. The meet will be at 6:30 p.m. at Central.
